Hello and thanks for stopping in to visit. My name is Mike Nelson I am a proud parent and have a wonderful wife. My wife Terri and I fell in love in high school. I have 2 lovely daughters. Brigitte is my oldest (14) and a freshman in high school. Autumn is the youngest (11) and just started her first year of middle school. I am just an average every day man who decided to make a difference and run for Congress. I have worked in the Oilfield for 8 years; first as a driver and for the last 7 as a mud engineer.
I was born in Brighton Colorado in 1975. I have lived in several states but Colorado has always been home. I attended Odessa High School in Odessa TX. I met my wife while in high school and have been with her since. We moved back to Colorado in 1994. I began working at the age of 10 when I started my first job as a paperboy. I worked all through high school. I obtained my CDL at the age of 21. I worked as a tow truck driver for many years. I have strong work ethics and morals. I give 110% on every job I have ever had.
I am running for the 4th district congressional seat against
the incumbent Betsy Markey(D). I will also be going against
whomever the Republicans decide to have represent them.
The current choices are Greg Brophy, Diggs Brown, Cory Gardner,
Steve Johnson, and Tom Lucero.
While I have no political experience I will strive to do my best if elected. This campaign I will be a write in candidate.
I firmly believe that when we elect someone to a public office it is that persons job to represent the PEOPLE who gave them the chance at that awesome responsibility.
I am in support of the war in Iraq/Afghanistan and believe our armed services are doing the best job possible. I believe that the current military budget should be taken from congress and the senate and put into the hands of the Generals who are actually in the field and know where the funds would be spent more effectively.
